I myself wouldn't consider myself a multi-tasker due to the fact that I like to think of myself as a one at a time type of person. Considering the information presented in the articles, it is easy to see that I actually do multi-task fairly often. For example, I always listen to music while I do homework or any work for that matter. At the same time I am able to maintain focus and get things done at a fairly good pace. On top of that I am able to interact with people whether in person or over the phone while listening to music and working. Even further, my friends in the room would converse with me about the television seeing that there are always sports games on in my room and I am able to keep up with the game while efficiently doing all of this. It surprises me so because I think of myself as a one at a time type of oriented person. In all reality I would have never even analyzed it as such without reviewing the articles, but now I am very aware of how much I do indeed multi-task and it humbles me to the point where I don't understand how all of that is possible at once, yet I considerably do all of those things at one time. There are many other examples of this, but this makes me think how much do I really multi-task with the rest of my life.

Do I believe wearable technology will catch on? Quite honestly, I believe that people will adapt to it as they always have in terms of introducing techology. I personally wouldn't want to have anything as specific as an Apple Watch or the google glasses because I am very content with the technological advances we already have and I like still being in tact with actual humanistic objects. It is nice to be advanced in a sense, but I don't want to fee like a robot in a society that relies on technology. These things have really mind blowing features, but to me they seem redundant when we already have similar technology that serves the same purpose. It is a great marvel to see how far we can get into the new era of this century don't get me wrong. I love having the things I do such as my iPhone, my game consoles, my LED tv, Bluetooth speakers and printer, laptop, insanely great sound quality head phones and many more things that we take for granted. I, going from childhood to now appreciate these things a lot more than the ones born in the post technological boom time span, and to see inventions such as the Apple Watch is astounding. Will this catch on? For the younger generation absolutely, but so long as the older generations are around it may be a little more difficult to have everyone on board with it.

By reviewing both the YouTube video and the article linked in the post, I really question how much I use my phone. Every notification i pick up my phone even if I don't answer it right away and I spend pretty long spans of time on my phone due to tending to social media apps, checking my bank statements, music for sure considering I play music for 75% of the time I'm using my phone, texting friends and family and making phone calls, and others that I may not even consider, but those are the biggest contributions of the time I spend on my phone. If I had to guess, Id say on a daily average I pick up my phone anywhere from 50 to 100 times and spend about 4 to 5 hours on it. I may even download the motion app and conduct this study myself, but for the time being I do know that I personally am distracted by phone and it does interfere with the attention given to the people I come in contact with. When I am engaged in a conversation with someone or during class I don't tend to use my phone much at all, but if I am not being talked to or if I am finished my work in class the first thing I think to do is check my phone. At that point, the world around me in a sense doesn't exist and everything else seems to be shut out. Especially if I am walking alone and I have my headphones in and for instance I decided to go on Twitter. I get so wrapped up in what is going on with the feed that I notice whats important like traffic around me and not walking into people but everything else is not even a concern until I hit the lock button on my phone and put it back in my pocket. The good news, I know I'm not the only one because I see everyone do it; teachers, my family, my friends, strangers all do it. The bad news is that this is dangerous because we should be aware of our surroundings and not so tuned into such a virtual world. Cell phones are great and have many advantages that connect us to the world, but the reality is for such a period of time we have in a 24 hour day, we are disconnected from reality.

Social Media in the Workplace
http://www.berkshireassociates.com/resources/white-papers/general-hr/social-media-and-the-workplace%E2%80%94to-be-or-not-to-be.aspx
- My views on social media in the workplace is that so long as it is being used for productive work reasons and given some time to outlet to our personal lives then it could be very effective. As the article suggests, in terms of positives, it is beneficial and makes common sense to have breaks to let our minds rest and flourish. Also, if there ever arises a problem that we cant solve, what do we normally do when we cant get it done ourselves?; we ask questions. This is a great way to ask people not online in our offices and places of work but the whole world connected by the internet for solutions to our issues. If there is ever the issues of people needing to be replaced, an executive can use social media. There are some heavy negatives to this type of establishment in the work place however.
According to a July 2009, companies lose an effective average 1.5 hours of total office productivity when employees can access social media such as Facebook throughout the day (Nucleus Research). When it comes to useful time a company wouldn't want to run into the issue of distractions, and social media does propose an infinite amount of them. It is up the maturity and responsibility of the workers in said companies using social media to avoid distraction and focus on the tasks at hand. With this, there is also the issue of security of the workers and business itself. If information about a company or the personal lives of the coworkers it could mean detrimental penalty. This would not be good if accounts were hacked, money was lost, workers were put on a chopping block to be fired due to inappropriate content. This could really make a huge negative impact on anyone and the company they work for.
I personally think that the installment of allowing workers to use social media for work related purposes is a great idea so long as everyone is on board and is aware of the very serious punishments that can come about. Without the distraction and people not minding the fact that they work for something bigger than their selves, social media can be a very useful technique in making work more efficent.
